She thinks silently to herself, not daring to speak and alert the "mother" that she is in the car. Don't move, don't speak, be still and silent, and maybe the "mother" will not notice that it is me behind the wheel, and I will get to drive us home.

At 16 my Darling (oldest of three) was LETTING HER TWO- and FOUR- YEAR OLD SISTERS STEER THE CAR in the church parking lot.

I am glad that I have eight years before I have to worry about this. The issue is once we hit that time I have three more after that in the next six years!
